In all seriosness there is room for a antarctic country but it would produce maybe 2 troops for the entire territory.
Antarctica is a vast tundra but makes a great place for boats(on a real world map) becasue the distace at the eqator to circomvent the globe is shorter the more north or south you go from the equator.
I feel that would be way to hard to add to the game though.

Actualy south africa is the dimond rich country of the world. I will see your argument and toss in that its not the oil that makes the price in the USA. its becasue were living in a global society where comodities are traded on paper and even if USA dont get alot of oil from lybia a war there still causes the price per barral to rize. if you look at the time line of oil prices Per barral you will see it spiked when lybya had unrest. Now for the gas thing. Gas is a byproduct of oil you by lite sweet crude oil then you bring it to a refinery to be prossesed into gasoline and other types of patrolium based things.
That said if the price of oil per barral rizes on the exchanges the price at the pump also rises.
as far as makeing the game complicated im still in disagreeance. it actualy would ballance it out and not really change the game we all like.
in the idea i posted you would not need oil to make troops. BUT you would have an advantage if you had a surpluss of oil during your build becasue the game would subtract the oil insted of your gold.

I totaly agree with everything your saying. I belive what your pointing out is that by adjusting income your just makeing some other country the new turky. I belive its not that turky is to strong but that it has advantages of easy little countrys to capture and good income and nice troop production.
This said i think as do you that the fix is not just dumping more cash on another country but i belive it would be spliting turky up into 2 parts. OR you could make it so no country space is big enuff to produce 10x the smallest country space.
For example if the smallest country only produces 1 then the bigest space should only produce 10 in its 1 city or 5 in 2 citys.
The reson i say this is becasue if a country can produce 38 units in one turn then you would logicaly haveing a country that produces only 4 unit have to fight almost every city to gain control of the entire country. As it is set up now your 4 units conquer 38 units in one battle.

Actualy Battleships were decomishioned after there weekness was discovered. there a BIG boat in a big ocean that make a great target for subs and bombers. there to slow to ketch a sub and dont shoot straing up. Also the bismark and other famous wwII battleships were verry expensive and the arecraft carier was so much more usefull and better protected that the battleship became a sitting duck in the oceans.

AWSOME new units guys ive found artilery and like it i found fighters like it, i found costal defence and LOVED IT!! even though it was captured in a non strategic city it made me want to defend with it lol.

OK then i will not disagree with the formula your useing but do still feel that there are other resorces that could be instiled into the game
Example
Tank 10oil,10steel,40 gold COST
now 1 resorce could=10 gold but really worth only 5 gold meaning if you did not have oil you could still produce tanks but they would cost you 240gold with no resorces or 140gold if you had 10 steel or 10 iron. the maintain cost would remain unafected.
this would represent a country haveing to pay for the resorce if they could not produce it.
a change in gold income would be made to reflect the gain of the other resorces so now if china gets 600gold per turn but has no steel or gold its paying alot more for a tank then the middle east is with less gold but having oil.
there production would not change and china could still conqured the middle easy to lower the cost of there tanks by gaining there oil production.

To gig: there are a ton of programs out there that have an auto move coded into them there must be something you can use as a platform.

I enjoys playing naval camander alot and find alot of the problems you mention to cost me the valubale 120seconds i need to take my turn. Expecialy around areas like denmark.
I have also suggested simmalar changes you are propsing
A 3rd and easy change would be to raize the zoom lvl for the game so that the conjested areas become bigger on the screen. if i could zoom to just denmark sized area it would help me combine my forces and move my ships much faster.
This increased value of zoom would also prepair the game for later graphical upgrades. IE terrain.
i vote Yes to both proposals and would use them alot.

Add doctorin to the SP buy list this could include things like
Combined assult:+1 to attacking units when land air and sea units are presend
Combined defence as above but for decence
allied strike: +1 attack when allied unit angadges same target
Allies defend: alows allied units adjacent to your capital to defend with your troops
Defend the shore: all boats while in seazone adjacent to city are attacked adding range
Bombard the shore: All boat attack land units for one round before landing on shore

these are ideas only but ment to get the ball rolling.

Control of a sea zone means any ships moveing in or out of that zone as cars or trucks moveing through an ocupied country have a chance of encountering Militery units. not all seazones are so important while other ones like panama's would be a major blow to shipping for any un allid country.
adding sea zones would be the first major step into bringing naval warfair in the game up a few notchs

income should be based on the income of the countrys controling those seazones for example the sea of japan is vital to japans economy so take a few dollars from japan give them the sea of japan as part of there country and put those dollars there.
In the example japan would start with sea of japan if chosen as a starting country and should also start with navel units in the sea of japan.

I was looking for a global war simulator and after 4 hours of serching through a bunch of images i foud it. Wanted to find something alittle more like panzer general meats superpower 2 in a web browser with more units then PG and less complexity then Superpower2.

Asia By the way may have a great income and a great amount of people but if you look at there income per capita is rediculusly low and they need to import almost every raw material from other countrys so asia is NOT correct in its stats. income should be much lower pop is about right though. breaking up those countrys into 2 zones each would make it longer to get the same amount of troop production and lowering the income would bring russia to a playable level to compeet with asia, meanwhile the gross capital in euprop as a whole is kinda high once one player controls the entire continent. Also europe has the added advantage of proximity of small area. this needs to be adjusted down across the board as well. no country should produce 30's another country. 5x or 8x is ok but 30x is way to over powered
This means Germany should produce 8 units per unit astonia produces. Now obviusly germany can and should produce more but ballance this by breaking it up into smaller areas or giveing astonia more troops(this is an example)
no one player should every get a 3000% advantage from start so map needs work.

One proposal would be to increase the area you can zoom the map into this would alow for a more detailed map more citys Better ability to move ships by denmark and germany and more devided countrys. as is being discused with indea and china.

Another reson most people are forgeting for indea's power is its proxcimity on the map. from indea you control the entire aisian continent and most of the middle east. any stratagy will work good there because if its income and troop production, it is also a great place to remove china from. Now if the entire continent of africa were to fight india under curent system indea wins 9 out of 10. thats not a ballanced that makes the game more enjoyable.
Also i do disagree with the comment who cares about ballance, I do. Play is right now like the movie war games only 3 coutrys are ever in the war in asia thats china and indea and japan. But if you take japans more expesive first turn costs out of the equasion due to transport,distroyer,sub or Air tran build out of the equasion then it leaves only china and indea. and if you had to start with either china or indea under the current format we all know what country we would pick. PS: afgan takes indea in 1 turn verry un-realistic for a 5k start

Artilery: some notes on its uses
1) Artilery is part of the higher ground stratagy. it is now missiles then planes then artilery meaning whoever controlls the higher ground has better offensive advantage.
2)used for supresive fire to keep units pined down so you can either move closer or further away with your main force.
3) verry usefull as a deffensive unit when emplaced. this type of use is when you put it in a city or hide it high in a mountain to keep units(or planes) at bay by increasing the range defender can hit incomming forces with
4)Anti-tank,Antiair, this is when artilery is entrenched and set up to attack lower clying airplane or like cannon of old set on a horizontal to hit straight on for blasting tanks.
5) lastly there are a multitude of types of artilery that launch everything from missles to cannon balls. some of the types of amo are canester rounds(like birdshot that explodes over infentry head and rains down on them,The shell, and there are even ones that shoot guilded bombes that explode upon impact.
Here are a few stat ideas:

Att High 7-9 for troops in the open but not as good for non advancing troops becasue historicly they will just take cover

Deff. low-mid 2-5 due to artilerys lack of close range it makes it an easy target once the aproching enemy is apon it but this is usualy overcome by emplacing it in areas that are easaly defendable or hard to reach

Move as infentry

Range 1-2 spaces artilery shoots between 2-60 miles depending on the type.

Bonus: artilery should have a good bonus because when a shell does hit it causes verry high casualtys

HP Verry low 2-4 they are easy to distroy haveing no armoure and actualy are usualy just captured when the unit it conqured the only defence artilery has is the terrain and infentry maining the unit and are ment to be acompanied with infentry.

Naval Camander

With this stratagy your navy is really strong vs almost all other stratagys Unfortionatly is rather expensive to build large stacks. Its a great stratagy on maps where capitals are located along the cost. you can play it 1 of 3 ways.
fist you can build stacks of distroters that your oponent has to go around forcing them to move there troops out of there costal citys eirly in the game or looseing them all.
Next you dont need alot of subs just enuff to take out those key citys when your ready to move on your oponent. the merine will take the inland citys for you while your distroyers work on the cost.
finaly adding 1 transport to each stack with a group of tanks alows you to blits the costs of most countrys
this stratagy works well in eupope if your playing britton or sweeden.
the week side to this stratagy is it makes your capital far weeker then those people playing with stratgys designed for land units so watch your capital closely.

How about Air Bombadeer?

Bombers +3 att/Def VS ships
Range +2
Tanks -1 att
Inf -1 att
Boats -1 move

Optional add:any sucsessful attack on a city remove's that citys income for next round from that player's income.

and Pincer stratagy
add to the bottom(only get bonus when conbining attack on same location) this makes it so you have no stratagy unless your useing all the troops combined.
another thing that could be added stack bonuses.

Axis N allies was so much better. But this needs alot of work to reach that level of gameplay the unit production is way to high, and in the newer versions of the game the countrys are split up. most zones produce 1 unit some 2 that keeps the game durations more strategic because your needing every space you can hold.
Also transport rules are diferent
airplane rules are diferent
Subs can submerge when attacked
Would be nice to see a few of those things implimented o yea did i mention they have aircraft carriers too, and sea zones worth points? would be nice to have sea zones worth production it adds alot to the naval end of the game.

I propose Orissa.Jharkhand,Bihar west be one province, Madhya/Pradesh,Gujarat and nort of that be another then the rest be the 3rd. thins way they all get a sea zone.

Japan could be devided with tokyo north as one and the rest south.

china needs 2 per zone now

Germany east and west

Turky east and west


this would ballance out the game alot. and still alow players to blitz the countrys during early turns without hindering the map.

I think the country should be 3 parts and i also think china(into providences), japan and turky also need to be split up into 2 sections each there way to overpowered for the rest of the world.
i feel all countrys should have ruflly the same starting capital and spliting up the big ones would be a good start to ballance out the map.
also after sliting them up drop the number of troops they produce but add a few citys to each providence there huge countrys with tons of citys. So insted of 8 bombers in 4 citys you would end up with 4 bombers in 8 citys within 2 providences.

I disagree Zeroa, any game where you can end your turn in under 1 min dont seem as though its complex enuff. But i do understand where you are going with your statement, Maybe you put it in as a tic box to alow people to turn if off if they dont like it.

Here is the BEST defence unit not implimented Sam's or surfice to air missiles site.
here is how they work
there range is over 60 miles any non friendly air unit flying within its range is shot at
you could make advanced sams and other things. would be a great upgrade for air defence. the defending plane would not ret to attack back unless that was there target.
Ingame this would make air units more ballanced and reward teamwork

I also think a more indepth look at these countrys are required to make it so the guy who takes turky in the europ game dont win 90% of the time.
I actualy find that the most imbalancing thing in the game is not the stratagy the income or the location of player start but the ability to grow your army without spending cash by capturing citys.
EX: i build 50 bombers 1airtrans and 4 melitia then fly around the map hitting citys and every one i hit regrows more units for me.
Ballance i feel is verry bad right now. this is proven by fact that the same countrys always dominate the map leading to less depth of stratagy and more emphasis on just taking capital.

Each country is tied to a special ability.
USA,china and japan can make nukes
The middle east gets lower cost to maintain troops due to high oil output
africa gets cheep infentry units du to hi population
Again these are only examples not ment to be those exact bonuses but to help with the implimentation of the idea.
