I would need a third option because I don't always read it, but I sometimes do, specially when playing a new weird map with very akward units.

Yes I do if its a new map or a map I never played. It doesn't need to be super descriptive but I believe all maps should provide unit descriptions.

Unit descriptions often say what bonuses each unit gets, so yes.
