Can't set up custom profile header

I tried uploading a 1200x270 picture. Got this message afterwards:

Nothing changed on my profile. What are the requirements to actually upload a custom profile header?

This is very common, at least for me. You probably have to log-out and then clear your cache/cookies. It takes a bit of time but it should show up eventually. Also there aren't really any requirements besides the type of file you used (jpg/png/gif are acceptable), also any large images are usually resized to fit the normal area.

Weird, I logged out and cleaned my browser but I still get the same problem.

Edit: Tried this both in Chrome and Firefox.
