Shame on mods for letting the map contest die.

Why would you let the most egoist map maker be the host of the official seasonal map contest, the real reason the contest was cancel, was not because they lacked votes, but because the host was mad that his map perfom horrible (yeah nice idea letting the host of the contest participate on it!) make map makers get hyper and then literally dropping all support, ignoring the topic and giving them the middle finger.



Why would i care? Because 18th century/global empires (Aka GGG) is in the list, and i am really confident that i won at least 3th place.

Why do i make this post? because mods totally ignore that the map contest disaster even happen (and the custom map forum is 100% death literally full of UN Show offs).

What should mods do?:

A) Give the 5 map makers a stalemate trophy similar to this:
B) revive it and let people vote for the 5 maps
C) X idea by mod Y to give map makers Z award


For real mods, if you gonna let some member of the community host official contest (even making a forum for him) at least make sure that he does the right thing...

btw, mod do not move this to custom map section because that thing is more death than my childhood dog and nobody is gonna read it.

I had an idea for hosting a competition for most innovative maps, if that helps stray away from this whole fiasco. "Atlas Awards", sounds catchy as fuck.

I don't think you know how we pick the PoTM. If it was a player picking he would nominate his friends. Others will nominate their friend and there would never be a winner. Besides these map are the competition for Cartographers, it not impossible that they downgrade the map.
Furthermore, they already had their chance to vote during qualification.

I don't think you know how we pick the PoTM. If it was a player picking he would nominate his friends. Others will nominate their friend and there would never be a winner. Besides these map are the competition for Cartographers, it not impossible that they downgrade the map.

I don't care how you pick Person of the Month, I care how you wish to deal with this situation. If you were to chose one of the five maps listed- even though this entire topic is out-of-date- you would chose which you like best, if all factors of speculation are not to be included. If you were to balance a specific set of variables, and whichever variables attained the highest value, a more fair vote could occur, though it would need to be completely public for more whiny assholes not to pick at the decision. Nevertheless, the Moderators, which are here to Moderate, should not be the godlike figures of decisions, as they have been for the past year. I state that cartographers should have the final say because this is a topic about cartographers, even if there is bias, networking maps is a better point than the glory of winning at this point. Either way, there is no penultimate, satisfying end to this, so in my own opinion, now: Just drop the whole topic, and give those players a "Ezzatam Cartography Participation" trophy, and call it a day, as has been stated.

Holy hell, did I really just ramble that fucking much? Point is: I now feel like this whole Ezzatam Cartography thing is dead, and should be forgotten. Soz for arguing, hugs?
