Since WWII is dead, and Third Age: Return of the King is very good map, what about organizing sunday games? It requires 10 players instead 18, easier to fill, easy to play, lots of fun, what do you say, how many of you are interested? We could use same hours as for WWII (it was London time if i remember correctly). There are already few regular players i see play Return of the King already, like; Holy Sanguins, MastermindTaibi, MoS, Prince_Murderer and few from the Empire clan, so if we organize weekend games, we could start faster and balance it more easier. This game is very small and it makes it really hard to find players for maps lately. And it doesn't have to be WWII hours we used, just post below time that suits you, and we will work something out.

RotK is something you can typically fill in the lobby, I'd rather do organised hosting for a more obscure map, but whatever floats your boat I guess

Nope, we were waiting 45 minutes for 1 player last weekend. Average size maps fill harder than 20 players map in 2015.

Most 20-player maps are recycled versions of Tik's WW2 base with some differences like faction arrangements and such, or FFAs. I guess there are a few like Kaiserreich or Warhammer but as said they are few and would probably not appeal to the community much

I'm making a lotr map with 14-18 players. Unfortunatley clovis lied, and people died. Now there is no scenario editor three weeks later. Still weird how he went from giving me daily updates to not speaking to me for two weeks right after laochra got repromoted over his head.

Actually it is pretty easy, just follow the story or real historical battles logic: recruit cheap units for frontal war then train stronger troops for defeating the enemy. IRL you had elephants, libyan skirmishers, knights, kataphraktoi, in this fantasy you have trolls, wargs and berserkers (high crit and/or hp). It is perfectly balanced with imperialist specialization (strategy is up to player in-game). Make majority of your army simple units, like archers and spearmen (or warband and raiders if you are orc/evil), then recruit knights/paladins or trolls/wargs/spiders if you are orc/evil. Some units can 'jump obstacles' (air unit) like rivers, mountains and bypass walls/cities: rangers/pathfinders for Good and spiders for Evil, so you can also make missions to help your front or ally's. Hope this explains, to realize high crit units are not enough to win alone, as they are very expensive and usually have less range (hard to keep up with main army). They can only be bought in small quantities to help you gain advantage in battle.
