Recently people deleted topics that had some kind of relevance to the community because of their emotional state, or because of other reasons. So what I am proposing is, when the original poster decide to delete his thread, or post if it has a lot of upvotes, it will be pending until mods check it. and decide if to approve the deletion or just cancel it

Yes pls! Also, instead of letting people delete their post, it would be much better to allow them to just lock it!

well i put up a thread about something mainly cause i was annoyed at something, i cant remember what that was now but i deleted cause it was stupid thread and it was a waste of space and sitting above some stuff that was actually interesting. Then people kept commenting and it got pushed to the top again, so in some cases being able to delete things is useful

If the main issue is that you didn't want people to comment it then just lock it. If you felt ashamed of it, maybe you should have thought longer before posting it. People always like to remember things, even if they're a fucking waste of time... sometimes you might giggle with them or remember some stupidly interesting answers, idk. It's like history, not all of it is actually relevant but that doesn't mean that we should delete those parts, it can always be useful to put the totality of history together

Its not about people commenting on the thread or locking it or being embarrassed about the thread. its about its practicality to exist/ usefulness in existing. Its got nothing to do with relevance or irrelevance the thread was to do with an incident in a game, so really it was of no use because it was emotionally led instead of practically thought out which makes it a pointless waste of space in an argumentative/debate type of forum. also if you refuse people's right to be forgotten that is breaking a few laws around the place. (unless the admins try to claim everything posted on there site as the property of them). Now by no means would i delete everything i put up but if it has no relevance and no reason to exist then why should it. it doesnt add to the community in any way and it doesn't give any particularly good stories to go along with it, it will just be forgotten and useless. almost feel sorry for all the forgotten useless threads that have to exist after saying all this

You do realize that half (probably even more) of the forum posts are supposedly "unpractical" for the benefit of the game right? Yet, they all have something stupid / funny to tell, stop blaming the post, it's now part of the international museum of AW history, you should feel proud for your post!
You should remember that this is a game forum, not the international headquarters of the UN or a Pentagon meeting. Half the debaters here are simple trolls lol
That right is reserved for law breaking, not forum posting!! XDDD

Lol if people want their OWN threads deleted, who are you to stop them? They made it, they can decide about it.

all of that and not one good follow up for why people shouldn't be allowed to delete there posts . your trying to defuse my argument but your not really making your own anymore. I have much disappointment in you.

Allow moderators to veto thread deletes? Sure. Let's give one of the most controversial part of the AtWar community more power to annoy people. I'm sure it'll work out so well.
