I would do a lot:
1. Delete the Clan War System
- I would remove the idea of Competence and base it more on Wins and Losses. Each team obviously gets 1 win for winning a game and 1 loss for losing a game, but how you determine the overall winner would be different. I would make it a whole kind of algorithm that has to do with the record of their opponent because playing not so great clans is an easy way to get cheap wins, so the system would be ranked by wins but if a team has more wins but less strength of schedule the algorithm might have them passed by someone with near the same number of wins and games against top tier clans. This is just a rough idea and I personally could like it or not, but certainly the system needs to be changed. Also I would remove the cap on number of games, why do clans get potentially penalized for playing more than 30 games, and if a clan plays 45 games then they have no incentive to play the first 15 seriously since they are just replaced later with games against potentially weaker clans or other circumstances.
2. Update the Map Maker
- The map maker is basically a mess at the moment, it is buggy most of the time and constantly runs into issues with its systems and just makes it overall weak, also when it does work, it is very limiting on the creative possibilities for maps, dimensions have restrictions, units (even units labeled other with customizable stats) are restricted on what to do and there still isn't effective ways of exploring all parts of warfare, I wanted to create things like missiles on submarines but that isnt possible because sea units can only care land units who can not be used in water. There are just so many restrictions on the map maker that need to be cleaned up and parts of the inputting for map makers that just make it so frustrating to edit maps.
3. Restate the AtWar rules
- The AtWar Rules have not really been touched in a while and I feel that the community has grown to the point where we kind of need specific guidelines. At this point mods are kind of having to operate without a rule system in place to help them, so rules are left up to the mods, which does not exactly work as not all mods think in the best interests of the players, and focus more on personal agendas.
4. Refurbish moderation staff
- Kind of a "No Shit" statement but I feel that the moderation staff is not where it should be and there are mods who do not need to be there, and people who should be promoted to mods to help the community. The moderation system is outdated and basically runs on the system "if you are friends with mods you get to be a mod or get to be supported by mods" which is not something that I would like to see happen.
5. Advertise the Game
- I could go on for hours about ways to expand the game but I think it should be advertised and spread to other parts of the internet, and of course that would cost money but the whole point is exposure, we are not going to get anywhere with a stagnant population. I have seen people suggest adding AtWar to Steam but it does not really feel like a "Steam Game" it is more just one of the many internet games but can become more popular if actual work is put into its advertising.
I could continue on and on and on for days about things I would change and I am sure there are many more things I would add to the game but I can not think of everything at the moment, I might come back and edit once I think of something. So this is what I would like to do if I was admin, sorry if you are offended by what I think needs to be changed, get over it, I am not here to please everyone and I do not care to be subtle when it comes to something important like my enjoyment of AtWar.

You don't need to be an admin to advertise?

You don't need to be an admin to advertise?
In order to do big advertising that would cost money, you would need to be an admin, unless you want to pay money to advertise atwar, i wouldnt advertise on large scale unless I was admin and had the game funds to do so

Ok, now I get what you're saying, however. If you were admin how would you go about marketing (Forget Steam)

Honestly I dont know much about marketing so I would definitely read up a lot about it before doing anything, but I would assume it would just start with growing relations with sites who bring in people, whether it be social sites or other just advertising sites. I do see the importance in a social media push and I am glad that AtWar has things like Twitter and Facebook and would definitely move to see their progress increased.

I think best form of advertisement for this type of game is admins find other other strat games (that are not as good) and make a deal to do some kind of mutually beneficial advertisements on each others sites. It wont be mutually beneficial though cause this game is better and we will slowly steal all there players muahahaha

Don't forget the part where if your map is meant to loop horizontally the editor should let you work horizontally. I say this because I've run across that problem and now I am forced to have it not loop or else there will be a big line of nothingness no one can own.

It is hard to list everything tbh, the most important would be:
-Making Specific unit types with customization for stats, so that i can make custom units that are able to get strat bonuses even if they have crazy attack and defense and cost.
-Adding negative range so units like Bunkers could get -5 range and not be moveable (I would only add this feature to *Other* unit types I think)
-Customization for what units can carry what, I would make it so that you can enable a sea unit to carry an air unit, or an air unit to carry a sea unit (nothing changes for land units)
I am drawing blanks on more stuff but atm i am rather busy in school, obviously if I was admin i would just create a list and add on to it everytime I had a good idea because I do have many more things that should be added to the editor section

I. Sell AtWar to someone willing to develop it.
II. Hire more developers.
III. Add a few gimmicks for fun, but add mostly aspects the community wants.
IV. Embrace glitches and make them into fair tactics.
Not truly that difficult.

Do stuff.
Add more units, implement custom strategies, organize clan wars, modify the tb system...
I actually have a detailed explanation for how to apply all the ideas listed and why we need them, but I'm just tired of suggesting new ideas that I find would be revolutionary to the game when I know nothing will be taken into consideration.
