Why Inactive Mods Should Be Demoted

Dude, it's like you said Meester has been inactive for quite some time now, let the guy be inactive in peace. I could possibly agree with the demoting inactive moderators, but the slander was a tad unnecessary and out of nowhere.

If this thread is about meester, I'm going to lock it. Keep it to the topic name please.

Meester is inactive just like Columna, But at least Columna is a man of principle and had the decency to retire.

At this point, anyone from before 2013 is familiar enough with this community and, above all else, must be autistic enough to be a moderator here. I don't see inactive ~ as a problem, rather those that have only abused the ~ deserve to be demoted. Pinheiro comes to mind as an example, but that could just be my own bias.

Nevertheless, I don't see a problem with these people who come on here occasionally to gossip and lurk the current drama shitposts as a detriment to moderation as a whole when this game is already a festering corpse. Fuck, I wouldn't mind coming on to answer reports a few times a week, I'm sure the likes of Hugosch and Desu didn't mind either.

You're right, VRIL was far worse.

Shit yeah, VRIL was a fucking abusive mod. I remember getting ip banned way back in the day by some mod for spamming help chat once; glad he's gone

I was on the so call "bad players list" a couple times and was muted for almost 2-3 month on all chats almost quit.

Demoting innactive moderators makes 0 sense other than they appear to not play at all in game. so what? They at one point or another have made HUGE contributions to the atwar community which most of you guys publicly aren't aware of. Some of them still log in time to time to provide feedback on forums, where their feedback is greatly appreciated. It's like a summer job between your college semesters. Would you want to be completely fired because you went to school? Of course not, you would like to be able to work over summer and over breaks. Same concept.

While I value the extra help that inactive mods can provide once in a while. unless these are mods that helped to shape the game in the past Like Desu and Acq I believe the damage they are making is far larger than the benifit. these mods did'nt play regularry for years and don't know what's going on nowdays or what's the current game meta, what's the problem with it and what bothers players. they only relie on other mods gossip. and these kind of mods should'nt have influence in shaping our game and making crucial desicions for active player. AtWar is dying and we need maximal efficience and not charlatans who like worming the mod's chair.

And in case I was'snt clear to someone. I am not saying every inactive mod is charlatan. It's clear that some of still capable and have good intentions but AtWar suffered plenty of time from absurd desicions and it is to dangerous to let it happen again.

Imo keep mod team fresh all the time so the power does not go to peoples heads
And they think they are entitled to modship

I think clovis as an admin has every right to kick any mod for any reason
Its well known that clovis and I have not seen eye to eye on a few things but i think that as acting General he owes no one but the owners an explanation.

Furthermore imo mods shouldnt be allowed to hold position for more than a year at most
So it gives more opportunity for fresh eyes in the mod team.

Sultan the point is some of these moderators do nothing, the whole point of a moderator is to moderate the game. Now if they aren't playing or viewing the forums then this makes their whole position redundant. I like you but it's starting to piss me off how ignorant moderators are becoming with their approach to this point, like its not fucking rocket science. If they're not moderating the game then why are they a moderator

this whole thread is a pointless argument really. Like.. who tf cares if mods are innactive? As long as we have a number of active mods who are online just about 24/7, then who cares of a few mods arent active? At least we can still give them respect of keeping the title which they earned. As long as there are active mods doing their jobs, theres really no point to demote innactives. Should we kick innactive players from the server? They aren't playing.. they aren't helping the game... they arent supporting the community... its the exact same concept.

if i were a player still i would back this 100% as well. However, after learning the ins and outs of what mods can do and the access they have (i wont go into details), i cant back this at all. Terrible idea. Theres a reason new mods are vetted by all the mods for a very long time.
