08.01.2020 - 06:46 In the video you can see that falling plane is all on fire. Could iran hit the plane with rockets. Maybe there was suicide bomber. Anyways iran refused to give the black box for the research.

Due to aviation international rules iran will decrypt the black box with Ukrainians. There is no reason to give the Ukrainian plane's black box to United States. Ps. You better blame the accident on Boeing.

Nice holywood tier assumption, even if it got hit in the engines it wouldnt blow into bits, planes dont do that. The pictures showed it got downed by shrapnel though.

I think they were blaming the heightened paranoia... not that i'm defending iran's actions, but at this point they are saying the missile was launched by an operator that made a judgement call without proper confirmation, due to a communication breakdown - if it weren't for the recent escalations, that judgement may have been different. Iran is still taking full responsibility, but it's not wrong that they are worried the US might invade, which could contribute to why the bad call was made.

Iran had no choice. The only reason they admit is because of international pressure to investigate the case and statement by Canada, the United States and Ukraine that there was no technical error on the plane. According to the findings identified in the photos they estimated that the plane had been shot down. Iran denied that it was shot down and declared in the first few hours, until now, that it was a technical problem. Iran cannot blame anyone but itself they brought this on themselves. This is just from the last half year: And why is it their responsbility? And right now, there are demonstrations in Iran and calls for the ayatollah to retire ("death to the dictator"), and to remove the government because of a low level of public trust in the government. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7876363/Iranian-protesters-Tehran-turn-against-regime-military-admits-shooting-plane.html

well, that is what we were all waiting for since it was pretty obvious that they were responsible. The fact the Iranian government denied for almost 2 days that they weren't responsible neither fire the plane - is something hilarious although bizarre.. The Iranian government tried to avoid the truth, luckily thanks to the political pressure of several countries, they had to admit their fault quickly. They could have digged their blame as long as proove isnt clear as soon and the news show new actual subjects because time is running.

Agree, but this is the first civilian target on that list, so the context is different as it was likely unintentional. As i said, i'm not defending their actions, but the US is no doubt in 'their heads' making them jumpy, and that's to what they were referring .

Yes probably. Though for example there is a regular rockets fire into Israel and many terrorist organizations are threatening to shoot at Israel, from almost all its borders, almost all the time. Nevertheless, our system can identify between civil aircraft and unidentified objects. If Israel had accidentally shot down a civilian plane, which has never happened, the government would immediately admit it and take full responsibility for it even though we were in intense situation. And conduct an internal investigation into the truth to learn lessons from the incident. Without laying blame on the other side. Because you're dealing with an enemy and all your mistake is yours alone.

Hdrakon is right , israel only does inocent colateral fatalities via air to land operations , not land to air xD With the tension of having USA hovering and trumps endless tweets of atacks being already planned , this seemed like the perfect storm for a mistake too occur.

Missiles are not shot at civil planes by mistake. If Irananians missiles are advanced enough to outsmart Nato's radars and AA missiles then obviously their radar can spot the diffrence between a plane to a missile. At the most forgiving scenario they looked for civil target to threat and misinterperated orders. Which is a line crossed at first place.

First, they say that Iran didn't shoot the plane down. *Iran says they shot the plane down* Then, they say that it was Trump's fault for provoking Iran. *Iran attacks a variety of oil tankers, shoots down an American drone, attacks Saudi Arabia, attacks American military bases, attacks an American embassy, all while arming terrorist militias throughout Yemen, Lebanon, Syria, Bahrain, and Iraq* Finally, their worldview crumbles beneath the pillars freedom and truth. I am an American. You are an Iranian. When evidence is unavailable, I side with the United States because I am biased. When evidence is unavailable, you side with Iran because you are biased. The only difference between us is that the United States does more good than harm, more often than not. We are a free Republic founded on the enlightened ideals of John Locke. You all are a monarchy-turned dictatorship hellbent on world domination and the destruction of freedom.

All weapons arent shot by mistake , even missiles need operators obviously . Even the most modernized armies have operators fail and cause civilian deaths in areas where theirs conflicts . Now they gotta do a investigacion to see why the operator fired and if someone authorized it , theirs always someone responsable , human factor is what usualy causes these kinda civilian casualty situations.

An operator can not aim at civil planes unless he actively looks for them. Traditionally in western armies soldiers do not shoot at civils without an order or clear permission from the brigade׳s commander or his war room. I am not blaming Iranian air force for shooting in purpose because I don't know the procedures there. However I can certainly tell that if the plane was shot by them then someone for sure actively searched it.
