AW Needs Better Moderation.

This is a stupid topic thats already been pulled up before

Well room chat is meant for discussion. but i do see where you're coming from and i think we need more mods. because there are still times where none of them are online when things go down. Maybe like 5 more mods would do it. so that we always have at least 2 on at all times.

Easy way of getting things reported when no mods online, Take a screenshot and report to a mod when one gets online.

Press the Printscreen to take a screenshot. Then paste it onto "Paint". (Hold Ctrl + V, if your lazy like me ) and then save it. Then go to a image uploading website like Tiny Pic. Then upload the image, then show a Mod. the "direct link".

Yeah I think I've got about 7-8 SS of mods not being on at around 12:00PM PST and many more that I can remember that I didn't SS, which is about peak time for AW
I was going to make a thread with detailed proof and examples of how we were lacking at peak hours, but I lost interest when I went Inactive


EDIT: also spam doesn't exactly come from just an update, it can take anything from an israel convo to merely a tense game ending and an argument breaking out.

The title should be: 'AW Needs More Moderation', as that is your statement. However, these kind of topics are not new, we've had a lot of them like here, right here!, and here, and there, look here!, and HERE!. So, that means its not something from today but a question that comes back all the times. The current mods are from different timezones, but one is more active then another. I know there are sometimes (Midday for Europe) that some problems can occur (trollers, global spam, palestine meets israel, kosovo meets serbia, macedonia meets greek). If you notice this, and there isn't a mod online: Best thing to do is to take a SS and PM a mod about it when online (just like LDK explained).

However: Its not that we don't want more mods, but isn't easy to find a suitable candidate. If anyone has any suggestions, then we listen to anything . Best things will be if its someone that is also online, when these kind of problems occur.

BTW @ LDK: When players get muted, they are allways mad. Then they tell a half-sided story to their friends and so the 'mods are bias' is believed. If someone gets muted, he has had at least 1 warning before (statistics also show that). I can assure you that no one is being muted for saying 'Israel'. You have no idea how many times i've heard "why is hdrakon banned for no reason?" The player who gets punished is most times very aware of the things he has done, and he will never tell the whole story to other AW players.

Being a mod is trying to decide whether something should be punished or not. That is a ungrateful task. If you don't act, because you think it isn't needed; the player who reported will be mad at you. If you do act, then the player who gets punished will be mad. A mod always needs to find a objective judgment, that is NEVER satisfying to both sides.

Also, last but not least: We are more watching global and roomchats logs (when no mod online), and we already punished some players because things we noticed in the log. But players who see the spamming, rasism, abuse, will not notice we handle it a few hours after this.

Also, when no mod is online, take a screenshot of conversation/spam/etc you find unsuitable and send as a PM to some mod.

Caulerpa and Hugosch have already explained it all. I want to just reinforce LilDGoinIn's suggestion: if no mod is online by the time you make a report, just take a SS and send it to one of us and I guarantee that we will have a look into it and set punishments if necessary.

Sometimes the problem might not be solved at the same time you report it, but we will handle it eventually, if the players also help us.

Maybe a stricter punishment would help?
1 Warning
2 Mute for a day
3 muted for a week
4 muted for a month
5 Bann for a month
6 liftime bann

and after a month without making trouble the player is set to the number before.

Another one of these threads? Really? How about you guys just use the good ol' ignore button if someone's spamming or doing anything you don't like? Be glad you have any Mods in the first place, they don't get paid and spend as much time as they can helping you already. We have enough Mods for the current number of people who play a lot (About 200 a day, sadly).

Actually I'm pretty sure you have to press CTRL+Print Screen to do a screen shot, and in some cases Shift+CTRL+Print screen because print screen is above something. Just my geek side coming out.

that's the whole story unless you would like to elaborate, also I'm more confused as to why tophats didn't get any punishment even after continuous farming...

first of all, i never farmed for my own gaining. I made a scenario once for counterpart who needed a gold medal which he never even got. I was warned by pinheiro and we never did it again. And this was a while back i think i was rank 8. That is all. And don't worry, I have ss's of you and fruit which i never reported so count yourself lucky xD

I find it funny that the thread tittle is better moderation, as opposed to more moderators. This implies that current staff has done something wrong, yet you did nothing to back up this claim. An issue I found is that many problems arise in private chats, in which problem causers cannot be so easily reprimanded by mods.

No more mods!
All is perfect, the only work of mods is mute me.

Just to push the idea, after 80days the comunity is spam free

The moment cow mods, ill be making my 1 year old nephew play AW, they can have cacow conversations together=)

I also think it would be a good idea if some more mods were online. Of course they have to be trusted.
