Pan-slavism wouldnt be ''invented'' if Germany and Austria were normal states. Instead, they choose to oppress nations they ruled. Slavs arent dutch or danish to be ruled and oppressed you know. We fight back. We do not stop until we liberate our people of tyranical chains. I already told you, you cannot enter slavic lands with sword and survive. Come in peace and you are welcome to come and stay. Germany and Austria oppressed slavic lands and people, it was just a matter of time when liberation wars would start. But Germany and Austria were more greedy, they wanted more. So they started WW1 and lost.

I already showed to you how Austro-Hungary was preparing to give equal rights to it's minorities, yet the Servs killed the man who was trying to help them. How did the Germans oppress anyone, when they owned nothing but their rightful clay?

They are going against Ukraines Sovereignty, that is a international law break right there. We will see how much Russia will be begging for forgiveness when NATO has 1million troops at there doorstep.

agreed with learster. Klitschko might be new but he has become better politician in the course of the past several monthes. He is quite intelligent (he does have a Ph.D).
Ukraine is blessed with very good politicians at this time.
tymoshenko probably outsmarts all the men in the politics in ukraine - she is a brilliant speaker and knows exactly how the play it right. Her stance is to sign a deal quickly with the EU and force crimea to pick russia or EU (russia is a dump compared to europe).
yatsenuk and turchinov are both newer politicians from the more average classes of society that seem to understand the people and lead a fair game.

However, as with all politicians, the test of time will only determine how good they actually are.

If we talk about politics, nowdays are the best days for Russia to do something in order to improve their status, we'v seen NATO got invovled in their buisness and humilated them since they colleapsed (intervation in serbia, syria, georgia..), and everyone is talking about that their economy is coleapsing, and for some reason, for hundreds of years, the leaders russia (and USSR if you want), are looking for influence in every piece of soil in the world where the waters are'nt frozen (I can think about few reasons economical, political, militarial and etc..), When Syria tested Obama's red line (and the second one, and the third..), they discovered that the west is unable to go for war, because of pressures from home, so as i said, if Russia wants to do something to improve their status, that's the right time (and ofcourse, it's only how it looks from the reported events, maybe there was something else beyond the scenes, we the simple people can never know if what we see is really what is going on).

The Ukrainian army is very qualitative considered to its economical abilities, but we don't really know who its hard and sword belong to, and I don't think they will have enough time to get enough soldiers to stop marching russing army to kiev (ofcourse the chance such an action will happen is low), especially if the russian population will suppurt them, pictures of the russian army in kiev will be status changer for them, when everyone talking about the chinese dragon claiming for the crown, people will see you have a bare who survived and threats the palace (europe).

Russia is and was always defending. Russia just want to protect russian people in Ukraine. They doesnt care for Ukraine since they got independence 1991, totally different state, so let them handle their own problems, but not at the cost of russians in east ukraine. It is really simple is that. There is no hidden secrets or actions, Russia never seek influence or power in the world. It just happened Russia beat off mongols, turks, tatars, great poland and sweden and made biggest empire ever. Since then everyone thinks Russia is agressive and attack oriented nation. Thats wrong and as long people view Russia that way, there will be Cold War.

What about China, Afghanistan (twice) and Persia?

I lol'd at that pipe dream. Have you been to these countries? Russia can't even keep their own backyard in line, e.g. Mongolia which is so far away from Europe and the US and yet is so far more influenced by us than Russia.
Let me tell ya, I walked the Mongolian capital city and what I saw was advertisement with German flags promising German quality, I saw whole Mongolian companies naming themselfs "German Standard" and houses labled "German" to make a better sale. I walked their supermarket which have next to no Russian goods to offer, but instead freshly imported German ones which aren't even translated to Mongolian let alone Cyrillic skript. I drank Mongolian beer with the German flag on it, acompanied by a tiny German knight and German words promising our old Purity Law for beer. Even sat in a Hitler-bar. They send their kids to Europe to get educated, one of which became a good friend of mine I went to visit there. He's a Mongolian army official and they do nothing else but steam full force towards NATO membership. So much that they are trained and advised by German and American military. They were even part of the German ISAF mission to Afghanistan, having their HQ in the German camp of Feyzabad, using German military equipment.
Their men admire not the Russian army, they admire US armed forces. They do not look to Zhukov to learn from history, but to Guderian and Heinrici. They don't watch Russian football on television, but German, British and Spanish. Their women do not dream of Moscow or St. Petersburg, they dream of Paris and Venice. Their youth does not learn Russian in school, instead I spoke German to them.

Our influence on them in economic and cultural terms is total. Politically Russia still has a say, but this changes faster than anyone would have expected, as can be seen in the Ukraine these days. Putin can flex his muscles all day long, while we in the West don't even have to commit a single soldier to the ground to to defeat all of his military might. This is the new and evolved form of cultural imperialism, for which Russia has no whatsoever answer, hence making them the default loser of this play.

Russia never fought China and Persia in the modern history. USSR ''invaded'' Afghanistan(Afghanistan was socialist and USSR's ally) but only to secure it from taliban takeover. Same what USA did 10 years later.

I can talk about medieval and enlightened Russia as well if you want. Countless of Polish-Russian medieval war - all started by polish invasion. Swedish - Russian wars, started by swedish. Russian-Mongol wars, started by mongols. Crimean tatar-Russian wars, started by tatar invasions. Russia beat them all and took their lands so they can never threat Russia again(Ingria and Finland from sweden, baltic, Minsk, Kiev, Warsaw from Poland, Ural and Siberia from mongols and tatars, Crimea from tatars and turks, Caucasus from turks)

From 1000 wars and invasions made on Russia, Russia maybe started 2 wars which can be blamed as ''imperialist''.

Wait, according to my books Russia invaded Sweden for access to the Baltic Sea. USSR invaded the Baltics, the Causcus, central Asia and other part of Eastern Europe.

The rest you said its true. Cultural Imperialism is the right word. Russia doesnt have the answer to that, yet Russia have the army to stop the invasion and secure Russias surviving until economy get stronger, standard of living get better and culture can be censored from the West, as Russia doesnt have the need of all that.

For the sake of the Russian people I would really hope so. I sure wish them only the best. Yet when I look at the nation-structure of Russia I see a Kleptocracy build on corruption and nepotism. The money drained down the sinkhole during the Olympic games being the best example. This makes me doubt your prediction.

Tymoshenkova ruined Ukraine. There were never more corruption and companies closure like in her time. He stole everything that worth stealing. She almost made EU puppet state out of Ukraine. While Russia offered large market and cooperation, EU is offering debt slavery, more corruption, loyalty to the West and hate towards Russia.

she didnt ruin ukraine - she knew exactly what to do with it and how to make it better economically. Her president yushenko was the one that put large pressure on businesses.
