I am currently making a US congressional district map. It is HUGE. 435 countries. To compensate the amount of countries it is 1 Country 1 City. Just about the limit on map size. To get across just Florida (not a big state, but 27 countries), which I have just finished with, takes many turns. Do you think a map like this is just too big for any kind of game, or might be good for long, world map style games?

I could increase unit range to get to places faster? I need to know what you guys think so I know whether to continue.

I tried using photobucket but this happened. How exactly would you upload an image?

It's on my account anyway.

Prt scrn on the screen you want then go to imgur.com and press ctrl-v. Follow the instructions and afterwards it will give you a list of links. Copy and paste the one that says message board or something similar. It would already have the code but if it doesn't place it between this:

Here is the zoomed out map. I have currently drawn Canada and Mexico (Unplayable), Alaska, 2 Hawaii and 27 Florida districts

Here is Florida. It is based on the 27 districts of Florida.

Max ingame zoom. Cities have similar reinforcements and income because districts are designed to have similar populations (especially within a state)

In my opinion it is to big. It would only be playable on a enjoyable scale with a lot of players. Increased Unit range doesn't really remove the problem as the cities are still close enough to each other to be reached by normal units. Increasing their range would give an "Strike everywhere, everytime" attitude, which isn't preferable imo. With enough players this could be a fun scenario though.

I personally love big maps, since they give more realism, but sadly the majority of players here are too impatient for these maps.
I wouldn't care about this though. It might not be as popular as the next UN map, but I'm sure the one or other still would play it.

To reach a larger audience for your map, you also can just split it in parts in different scenarios/presets after it's finished,
like making one scenario/preset only for the South, an other for the East, etc. and just turn the rest of the states off. Simple as that.
If you tried to make a realistic Civil War map, then perhaps you also can make different scenarios for single campaigns between single states.

I doubt that the map ITSELF will get played much, yea (huge maps like this are sadly just not good for this here),
but the scenarios and presets of it... I'm sure there will be some people who will play them.
