Most of those news stations are owned by umbrella organizations that order them to maintain a specific narrative. There's nothing wrong with that, I do not like the media but I think they should be free to print page after page of lies against Trump and other conservatives. If the government tried to regulate the media, then that would interfere with freedom to an even greater extent, and whichever party wields power would then have the authority to transform the media into a branch of its own bureaucracy. The greatest threat to democracy is democracy itself; as our counter-majoritarian institutions fade, and as mob tyranny sweeps the nation, our democracy will exist as a functionary of just 51%, as would the Constitution and the structure of American government
